Auto-Scoring Requested Data for True/False, Yes/No, or Number

Auto-scoring is a Bonfire feature that allows you to automatically score mandatory or pricing criteria based on a vendors' responses into True/False, Yes/No, or Number Data Fields.

To setup the appropriate Requested Data Fields navigate to the Requested Information section and click on the Manage button as pictured below: 

In this example we are first going to add a True/False, a Yes/No and a Number Requested Data Field.

1. Click Requested Data at the bottom of the pop-up.
2. Under the Option column, click the dropdown menu to expand it and then click True/False.
3. Repeat accordingly to indicate availability for a site visit, this time selecting the Yes/No option.
4. Repeat a third time, selecting the Number option for the third piece of Requested Data which we'll call Price.

We've now created three Requested Data fields. For the first one, we ask the Vendor if they have insurance over $1M which they must answer either True or False. For the second field, we ask if the Vendor is able to attend a site visit. Finally, for the third field we ask the Vendor to enter their Price as a numeric value. 

Mapping the Criteria

Now we are going to map the Criteria to the Requested Data (True/False, Yes/No and Number) to allow us to Auto-score that Criteria. Next to the Criteria heading, click on Manage and then click any of the options next to Add: at the bottom to add a criteria. When the blank criteria appears, there should also be a dropdown menu under the Type column:

In the screenshot above, the first created Criteria can be mapped to the Data Field "Has insurance over $1M" (note how this is under the Auto-scored by True/False Requested Data heading). This field is the True/False Data Field we defined in the previous step under Requested Information. Essentially this Criteria is being scored based on the answer for the True/False Requested Data. If the vendor answers with True, the mandatory criteria will be marked as Pass and vice versa.

The screenshot below shows the second and third Criteria mapped to the "Able to attend site visit?" and "Price" Data Fields respectively, with the "Price" field being set up as a Number Data Field and being assigned a point value of 100:

Now that the Criteria has been mapped, let's take a look at how Auto-scoring works by looking at two sample submissions. We'll call these Vendor #1 and Vendor #2. 

Vendor #1 answers as follows:

Vendor #2 answers as follows (note how they have answered 'false' and 'no' for the T/F and Yes/No questions respectively):

Once the applicable Evaluation Groups have been released, the auto-scoring will automatically occur. You can now view the scoring under the Scoring Summary section:

Note the purple coloring for the score indicating that the criteria has been automatically scored.
